The Institut für Textiltechnik (ITA) belongs to the faculty of mechanical engineering of the RWTH Aachen University. Therefore, the institute works on the improvement and construction of new textile machinery as well as on the development of new textile structures. ITA has competence in mechanical engineering and textile application technology. Its relevant research work concentrates on process analysis and simulation, material sciences, quality assurance, constructive textile engineering and economical analysis. The interdisciplinary team consists of more than 80 scientists, 50 specialised engineers, textile laboratory technicians and software development engineers and around 200 graduate students working on various research projects.
